Introduction

CTC Chain is an innovative blockchain solution that delivers full programmability and native interoperability across the entire ecosystem. It operates on a Proof of Staked Authority (PoSA) consensus mechanism, enabling short block times and significantly lower transaction fees.The validators with the highest bonded stake are elected to produce blocks. Comprehensive slashing mechanisms—including double-sign detection, malicious voting detection, and other penalty logic—ensure the network's security, stability, and finality.Beyond the active validator set, CTC Chain maintains a group of backup validators known as "Candidates." These candidate validators can also produce blocks and collect gas fees on the mainnet (though with much lower probability than active validators). Unavailable or misbehaving candidates are still subject to slashing, albeit at a reduced rate. This design provides strong economic incentives for candidates to stay online and contribute to network security.In extreme scenarios—such, such as when a majority of active validators go offline due to an attack—Candidate Validators can report stalled block production, help resume the chain, and trigger a re-election of the active validator set.
